The Mercedes-Benz SLK is a model series introduced by Mercedes-Benz in 1996. The SLK is a roadster that is smaller and more affordable than the well-known Mercedes SL. Although Mercedes does not officially treat SLK as an abbreviation, it is often expanded as Sportlich, Leicht, Kompakt (Sporty, Light, Compact) (sometimes also Kurz/Short).
