Maserati Bora

The Maserati Bora was a milestone in Maserati's history: it was the first Maserati road car with a centrally mounted engine – engineer Guilio Alfieri drew on extensive experience gained with the central-engined Birdcage Tipo 63-65 racing cars – and it was the first car developed entirely under Citroën ownership. Sales of the Bora suffered from the oil crisis in the mid-1970s, while racing plans were thwarted by homologation difficulties.
