Maserati Transporter Type Fiat 642 RN2 Bartoletti, 1957

The 1950s and 1960s were the heyday of the racing transporters that are still held in high regard today – or have been rediscovered once again. The largely identical vehicles of Scuderia Ferrari and Maserati were among the best-known and most technically sophisticated racing transporters of their day. A Fiat bus chassis – the Fiat 642 RN2 – served as the base. An open-top body built by coachbuilder Bartoletti turned it into a transporter capable of carrying three racing cars. Fitted with a 92 hp six-cylinder inline diesel engine, the racing teams' "workhorses" differed at first glance only in their exterior paintwork and advertising lettering. Only on closer inspection did it become apparent that the Maserati racing transporter did in fact differ from the Ferrari racing transporter in a number of ways. The model presented here is an exact replica of the Maserati racing transporter as it appeared in actual transport duty. The result speaks for itself; you'll be delighted. The 1957 Maserati racing transporter of Scuderia Maserati is an absolute eye-catcher – especially when loaded with three CMC Maserati models. Hand-assembled from 2,640 parts, the roughly 50 cm long Maserati racing transporter is a testament to CMC's capabilities. It captivates with an incredible wealth of detail, its two-tone high-gloss finish and period-correct decal printing.
