When Talbot first presented the coupé at the Paris Motor Show in 1937, onlookers were instantly swept up in breathless enthusiasm. The terms "goutte d'eau" (teardrop) and "teardrop coupé" soon emerged - neither ever used officially, yet both aptly capturing its extraordinary shape. Everything about this fascinating car, down to the last detail, speaks of a deep love of design and fitting trim. Every line, every strip of trim enhances the effect without ever appearing showy. Add to that a metal sliding roof, a rare feature for its time.
