Mercedes-Benz sent four Type W 125 racing cars to the 1937 Donington GP. Carrying start number 3, Manfred von Brauchitsch fought an exciting battle for victory with Bernd Rosemeyer in the Auto Union Type C. After a tyre failure shortly before the end of the race, he still crossed the finish line as a well-deserved runner-up.
