Mercedes Targa Florio, 1924, #23 Neubauer/Hemminger 3rd place

At the time, the Targa Florio and the Coppa Florio were among the toughest and most demanding road races in Europe. One lap of the extremely narrow and winding mountain circuit known as the Madonie circuit, on the outskirts of Palermo in Sicily, is 108 km long. The Targa Florio was contested over four laps (432 km). For the Coppa Florio, an additional lap had to be completed, bringing the total race distance to 540 km.
